Why Sustainachem
Overview
Sustainachem is a privately held water treatment company based in Missouri with customers in 22 states. We are focused on partnerships and driving continuous improvement. Driving results-focused treatment versus program-parameter focused.
Approach
At Sustainachem, we don't always believe more chemical is the solution. Most of the time, chemicals are Band-Aids. We try to minimize chemical usage by driving an engineered approach.
Mechanical
We first focus on mechanical solutions. If we can provide better quality water, we can minimize the chemical needed. This typically requires capital and is not always cost justified.
Operational
Operational changes typically cost little and can be valuable in optimization and cost reduction.
Chemical
Chemical solutions are the last area we review.
We then find the best package to minimize costs and drive optimization with the combination of all three.

Expectations
Unfortunately, in today's world, there are many water treatment professionals focused on profits versus results. At Sustainachem, we want our customers to focus on results. We train and demonstrate what analytical testing can be done to ensure asset protection. Don't trust someone that is selling you a product to tell you if it is working. Know that your system is being protected. Most analytical testing is focused on program parameters not performance. Do you really care how much chemical you are feeding, or do you care that your system is being protected? Most companies say turn up the pump rather than understanding why the issue is there. Typically fixing the issue costs less than turning up the pump.
